    Strange noise from BW 65

I mentioned a while ago that my BW 65 sticks in Park sometimes. It still does but over the last week it has started making what I can only describe as a high pitched tinny rattle when in reverse, but only when actually moving. The gearbox is perfectly quiet at all other times (stationary or moving forwards) and works beautifully. I have changed the fluid. I thought that the bottom hose was catching the alternator at first, when I looked the hose needed replacing anyway. I have replaced this and taken care to position it properly, but the noise when moving in reverse is exactly the same.

    Any ideas please?

    Thanks
    Brian.

      Hi Staggard

Thanks for the reply. I was sort of thinking along the same lines but when I had the sump off all looked to be OK... maybe I need to look again in more detail.

As I recall you cant see it with the valve block in place. I think it can be done by dropping the valve block and removing the tail turret to draw out the pivot shaft. Graham
