Has anyone considered fitting Astra Convertible (TS 2004/05) seats? The seat rails are the same width and the base seat height is within 20mm of the existing. Headrest height below Teebar. Craig

If they fit they look nice
I have rover tomcat seats in mine and they are tricky to fit if you want to use the seatbelt still, i.e. the seat back is very close to the b-post. I mounted my seats as close to the transmission tunnel as I could but that means that they do not slide far enough forwards for a shorty to be able to driveStags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony

My Recaros are no different, on centre not offset.
Fortunately the runners on my Recaros are very low profile, and with offset adapter brackets I managed to get the seats in the correct position the same as the original seats, and also actually lower. The rail nearest the centre line of the car is jammed into the tunnel carpet though as a result, and as stated, on some seats, can limit the forward movement.Mike.

In my case, I sit lower too that is an advantage being over 6 foot tall.Mike.

I have bought a set of Astra seats and spent the day trial fitting them. I have lowered the front of the seats by moving the seat height adjusting mechanism's forward anchor points further forward on the upper seat track. I gained about 20mm by doing this mod, i.e. lower. The seats are very comfortable and provide a lot of sideways body support. They also have heaters fitted which will be another challenge to wire up! That will be later on though!
The tilt forward lever on the upper side of the seats is very close to the "B" pillar. This lever is quite long and not recessed like the original Stag seats. The seats will be re-trimmed along with the rest of the interior so I will try to have a recessed adjustment lever fitted or just trim down the existing one. My original seats needed a complete refurb including some base frame repairs. The cost of doing this would have been at least twice what I will spend on the Astra seats. I will also now have very supportive seats with heaters! Believe it or not Perth does get cold in Winter!

A couple of photos. The seats are currently beige leather but will be changed to a cream/light tan when re-trimmed.Stag Seat 1.jpgStag Seat 2.jpgLast edited by Hughesy; 14 July 2015, 15:17.
