Fuel Pressure Regulator for Weber Carburettors

    Hello,

Does anyone use a Fuel Pressure Regulator for Weber Carburettors ?

Why does the Weber Carburettor need this ?

    Regards

You shouldn't need it really but the problem is that the pumps we have can create too much pressure. I don't know anything about the webber conversion as I like sticking with the Stommies but have fitted this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SYTEC-8mm-...item51d4464c66

Which I think is much better looking than the filter king and does the job just as well.

I have a Filter King from when I had a Holley fitted - its essential with a Holley and for the same reason I would consider it would be with a Webber, the pump needs a check on it which the Strom's don't - having said that, I still have mine fitted and the car runs rather better with it.
Same way, you cannot realistically run a Holley or a Webber without a catch tank - asking for trouble..

I'm not running with a catch tank and I'm not aware that they are fitted as standard to 3.0litre Capris for example that use the same Weber carb.
I have instead used the same breather valve as fitted to the Ford.

filter king make a difference to stromms too. without it the fuel pressure catches up fast when at idle and the carbs can flood.

p.s. out of here before it all kicks off

It doesn't need one Nick. Runs fine on the normal pressure.

                        Chris.
What is to the normal pressure for the Weber?

I've got a Holley on my RV8 and it's a total pain. Any views on which size of King Regulator to use as I currently don't have one? I was intending to take out the filter element as I'd rather stick to using cheap inline plastic ones and I have a similar filter on my electronic pump already (about 6 PSI). What's so important about the catch tank?

I have been advised to fit one for my Holley my pump is running 4 psi standard su pump is 2.5 psi my Holley needs between 3.5 and 7 psi. As per Holley. Com so I will fit one and set at 3.5 psi and hope to get to a rolling road soon after.

                            cheers Glenn

If your holley is flooding at 4psi fuel pressure then it has a float or needle valve issue. A 3.5psi regulator is unlikely to fix it.

Setting float levels on a holley is fun.........i preferred the Edlebrocks - massively easier to set up if not as ultimately adjustable.
Header tanks - you can't beat a bit of bling.
