    Fitting a Lumenition

I am just trying to fit a Lumenition Optronic. I had a Neutronic before so I have got the points baseplates from another old dizzy but what used to connect the vacuum advance to the baseplate? The vacuum advance has a arm with a hole but there is no pin to connect it to the baseplate. Did the points have a pin on the bottom or is some thing missing?

The instructions for the Lumenition just say that "the mounting does not have the pin for the vacuum advance". Also as there are 2 sets of points where do I mount the optical pick up - as it could go in either place? The instructions do not even mention this!

Any help would be great - thanks

    Hi Giles,

I have a couple of pics for you,

This one is the dizzy with the upper base plate removed, you can see the vaccum advance arm towards the top right....

...and this is with the points base plate attached. There is a small pin like screw that attaches the arm to the plate.

      Hope this helps

      Regards

      Dave

If you do find one please let me know! Mine is worn about 1/3 through .

            Cheers

              Dave

I got one from Seb at doa stags - advertises in the classifieds in the mag - but it is worn about 1/2 way through, which is obviously common! I think I will fill it with JB Weld or similar and just redo it as it wears again.

              thanks again for the photos

He has not got any. Asked my father if he fancied making one - but I think its too small for his lathe!
