    Rear Diff Mountings

Hi, hope you are all well, I have finally decided to tackle rebushing my rear end myself, I am equally apprehensive/confident that I can do this and have read as many posts relating to this as possible but have a question, do I need to remove diff completely to change the bushes or can it be achieved by dropping a bit without disconnecting prop/exhaust etc.
    Many thanks in advance.
    happy motoring.

It's Ok. I changed mine without removing too much, however I don't recollect exactly what I had to take off I'm afraid. I know I didn't take the diff out though (Well, not the first time I did it).

    Cheers

Thanks Julian, would love to have it looking like yours but for now I just need to change bushes as easily as possible to keep it on the road.

I think you'll have to drop the rear exhaust, maybe just the mounts. Then you can probably drop the diff rear enough to change the upper bushes.

        Cheers,
        Mike.

Thanks Mike, unless some one says otherwise I will give it a go, wasn't sure if all the other mounts etc would let it drop enough.

Well, with the car safely supported and a jack under the diff, you can release things and drop it gently, looking at what is holding it up.

I removed/replaced the diff on mine a few months ago (cracked nose piece!) but apart from removing the exhaust, subframe back, I didn't take anything else off. I think!

            Cheers,
            Mike.
