There is a photo of a Stag in amongst them I think in Edinburgh !

      Now, there's a coincidence.

My Stag was supplied by an Edinburgh dealer...
Bereft of a Triumph of any description.

What you forget is how empty the roads were back then. There are so few cars in the background in almost all of the photos.

            Great link Neil, Thank you.

I remember all of the ones in Brixton, Wimbledon, Balham and Streatham pictured in the Photo's. The one of Wadham Stringer on Brixton Hill was about 1/2 mile from where I worked and served my apprenticeship. (Esott & Co) This is a very old picture That I found online some time ago.

If you can find some old footage of the first Brixton Riot's you can see how it looked when I worked there when it was a Rootes dealership the idots set light to a Transit in the road outside. It's a timber wholesalers now There was also a very large Ford dealer next door called Adlards and the other side of us was a BMC dealership called Prin & Steven's. Further down the road were one of the biggest motorhome dealers at the time, that was Wilson's motor caravans.

            Happy memories

Mine was supplied by Rossleigh to a London based company - guess they must have had an office in Edinburgh too.

Rossleigh were a very famous Dealership in Edinburgh from 1890 to a few years ago when it went to Rossleigh Heron to Stratstone to Pentland Jaguar.
Your Triumph in 1976 would have come from their premises off the Glasgow Road at the West Side Of Edinburgh in Corstorphine / Murryfield area on Gylemuir Road ( The Autoplex ) now a Tesco / Pets at Home / Currys PC World Complex. between Gyle Public Park & B 701.
They also had a 'Shop' Dealership in Shandwick Place at the end of Princess Street but that was more like a fancy London Dealership in Mayfair & displayed cars in a busy shopping area.

It has long been redeveloped but their new premises did move onto the main road not far away on A8 now Pentland Jaguar.

On Internet found a link to the Triumph Dolomite Club post with 2 period adverts of Rossleigh on page 3 of 7 talking about Dealerships.

Actually a very interesting thread from page 1 as the topic is 'Triumph Dealerships and Distributors' which lists them all.
