    No power when pulling away

I have just got back from a 2 hour run and have been experiencing problems with the engine missing/ no power when pulling away from a standing start.

I have checked diapraghms and replaced o-rings yet the problem seems to persist. Whats strange is that it seems to only occur after an hour or so driving. Once she been stood for 30 mins I get another hour trouble free.

    Any ideas?

It sounds like it could be muck in your float chamber/needle valve, when you leave the car for a while it settles but after a time it causes the car to play up again, the muck is normally rust particles from the tank and the filter on the suspension turret only catches so much of it the rest finds its way into the float chambers.

Cheers Mark, I doubt the carbs have been off for a while so I guess there could be plenty of accumulated debris in there as well. Sounds like a clean up job.

      Thanks

        Hi Phil

Might be worth checking therubber fuelhose in your fuel line? I have had exactly this (on another car) caused by the pipe collapsing internally and acting like a shut off valve.

failing that, try the points in the fuel pump, they get sticky or worn. t'wifes nail file is just the job.
