    26 mpg :) ?

Just have a high speed 60-70 mph( mostly ) with the odd "safety overtakes" from Brum to Royton / Duxford ( small show met Mark from this Forum ,great chat )
and return ,227 miles and used 38.2 litres which roughly equals 26 per gallon , pretty good or .....................

    am I easily pleased?

Did we meet and discuss the colour of my Stag - Did not realise it was you?

I was aso about to post on here as this was my first signigficant motorway drive other than a cautious few miles on collection ftom PO. I was amazed that not only did I hold my own with modern traffic I was also able to see off a few "BMW Blockers"*

*Drivers usually of lower spec BMW's who tail you so closely in the ouside lane so that they run you in the inside lane into the back of a slower vehicle and then waft past. I can see them off always on my modern Jag but was amazed at accelleration of the Stag so could do likewise. At one point I touched an indicated 80 mph but the Stag was still pulling. Steering was also positive and precise.

All in al a great driving experience and a great day out at Duxford

    Fantastic

Your suggestion of Nightfire Red certainly looks a possible. Have ordered a touch up stick from a firm in N Ireland whose Radiance touch up stick for my modern Jag and Pearlescent Maroon stick for my Daimler V8 were spot on.

I have managed just over 32 on a long and actually quite fast 300mile A Road and Motorway journey. That was the only time I ever really worked it out and I was pretty happy with that.

Le Mans and back I averaged 29mpg. Nice steady 70mph.

2 hours of traffic jams was 17mpg

Don't worry about MPG, just floor it and listen!

Lets face it, we didn't buy our Stags for their fuel economy did we?

I can still charge more per mile than it costs in fuel when I do a run for work. That's a win-win for me - getting paid to drive my Stag - what could be better?

                        Fully agree

Paying 40% tax on it already and inheritors will pay another 40% on it if we dont spend it, makes George Osborne happy also as we are boosting UK economy now!

Driving a stag for a couple of hours is far more entertaining than paying the entry fee for yet another contrived theme park!

Never so far been able to assess Stag economy . But I have repeatedly recorded 25 mpg on mixed runs on my Daimler V8 ( earlier smaller V8 delivering similar power/torque but much heavier car aka Jaguar MKII)
