    Rev counter stopped on my Triumph Bike

    Ok, this is a long shot, it's not my Stag but my Triumph Daytona 955i bike- it's a Triumph so close enough for the forum

    As there are some bright people on here maybe some one could help, I took my bike for an MOT today and the Rev counter wasn't working, it was yesterday? I don't have a manual for the bike so before I go pulling things to bits I thought I'd ask on here first!

    Any ideas?

    Is it electronic or cable driven?

              Cables are usually found on older bikes, it looks like yours will be electronic, check for broken/corroded wiring or maybe a connector has come apart?

                If it's anything like my Triumph (Stag) tacho, it'll work again tomorrow, until it feels like another rest.
                TV8, LPG, EEWP, HiD's, ZF 4, 15" Minilites, SS Bumpers & Exhaust, BMW Servo & Master, Rilsan.

                  Daytona's would be electronic tacho's also fuel injection.
                  Therefore if the motor starts and runs ok, but just the tacho not working, it maybe just the wire from the ECU to the tacho.

                  ps I had a 08 speed triple for years, all bikes gone now, to get the Stag.

                        I have had connectors apart, clocks apart, cleaned up everything still no joy, maybe the Rev counter has gone kaput?

                        Maybe a second hand Rev counter is needed?

                        We thought stags awkward to work on! To get the clocks out the headlights have to come out, which means top fairing off which means Mirrors off. To get to the connection by the engine that means tank off, which means side fairings off which means belly pan off. It goes on and on and...........
