Anybody got any experience with re-trimming the t-bar? Looks like the cover is available. Does it fit properly? What about the foam underneath, is it available. Anybody near Chester know of a good trimmer who can do this job well?

Paul, its easy to fit a new cover to the T bar. I put a plastic bag over one end and just pulled the cover on, then pulled the bag out. I dont know about the foam though!

If he hasn't retired yet I can strongly reccomend a trimmer in Buckley. He rebuilt and part retrimmed a pair of leather seats in my Triumph 2000 and also the vinyl driver's seat in my PI. The work has been done to a very high standard. I can dig his phone number out if you like. Last time I was in he was retrimming a pair of Stag front seats and they looked superb.
Hi Paul
Re-trimming the T Bar is not difficult but the foam underneath will be fragile by now. Remove old cover carefully and if needed wrap the foam in cling film to hold it together. Leave the cling film in place and use a light dusting of talcum powder over the cling film (helps the cover to slip on) then refit bar to your car . . .job done. Hope that may help, has worked for me plenty of times.
