Whilst driving this weekend I noticed the ignition light on,I suspected an alternator fault ,parked up only to find the battery had drained.
After ringing the missus and getting the stag jump started I got back home and checked the battery and dropped a meter across it to find no charge when started.
I charged up the battery with a trickle and took the alternator out.
Now I've got a guy to put new brushes and bearing in,is there any way I can check if the regulator is ok ???I've priced one up just in case.
Also has any one got a picture of one wired in situ it's a mk1 ac11 external reg
Thanks guys I'm also going to change the anti roll Bar bushes while I'm down there it just felt easier doing it from underneath😉.
