Just dip a paintbrush in a pot, clamp the brush at the right height in a workmate, and drive past it...... Just make sure the ground is smooth or you'll get a bump in the line.
If you want a twin line, use 2 brushes

When applying in the cold ensure you warm up the tape to room temperature. I'm sure these tapes sit in warehouses for ages as one reel I had was really britle. Frustrating at the time it snapped half way. I toyed with setting up my laser level but in the end a good eye is all that's needed.
