    Wiper motor / drive cable

    My wiper motor started making horrible graunching noise, and was coming from the electrical motor part. Took it off earlier, and seems one of the carbon contacts was stuck at an angle. Freed it off and all was good.

    Put the motor back and the wipers won't turn off!

    Going to Thornfalcon show in Somerset at the weekend, and looking at the forecast this may not be a problem!

    Anyway, took it apart again, and the metal clip on the end of the drive cable has broken off. Is this a separate item, or integral with the drive cable?

    I had this issue when I purchased our Stag, the wipers don't stop. The clip is integral to the drive cable (519529) and operates a sliding carrier and microswitch in the base of the motor assembly. I managed to get a s/h replacement from Robsport.

      Thanks Andy. I'll have a hunt for another cable. In the meantime if I get the wiper stalk just in the right place, the wipers stop!

        It depends entirely on the weather Al. I was the only representative from the Stag fraternity at a big show in Plymouth last Sunday when the weather was excellent. I'm not going to park in a potentially muddy field if it is p*ssing down this Sunday.

        Fingers crossed that the MetOffice have got it wrong again......

                    No, sorry, won't be at Thornfalcon.

                    Always wanted to try BC and then got a special offer. Found myself against the clock both going there and coming back so no time for coffee I'm afraid although I was only about 1/4 mile from you.
