I will be having some welding done on my mk2 ie floors , boot floor, sills. etc.
What colour should the floors be inside and underside.
My car is Tahiti blue
The floors on my Stag - also Tahiti Blue - are body colour on the inside under the carpets. Also body colour on the inside of the boot floor, inner wings etc. There are traces of body colour underneath but I don't know if Stags had any kind of coating applied from new...
My car was until recently, un-restored on the underside from new. The wheel arches were coated in a thick layer of tar like material which is clearly factory. It also contained the same substance in the inside of the wheel arch seams.
Personally I prefer the look of cars with black inner wheel arches as I think the body colour style makes the wheel arch gaps look exaggerated and certainly the inner arches were black from the factory.
