MOT certificate update

Hi, just heard from my MOT man who has spoken to the DVAS (new name for VOSA) they say that MOT 1 cannot and will not talk to MOT 2 so any overlap of dates will not be transferred. Their advice is to leave renewing the MOT until as late as possible before renewal date. Another fine mess that the government has got into!

I Had a problem when I took my Stag for M,O.T car pasted however when I got the certificate instead of it being made out to read Stag in was TR7.the guy who tested it
said that's whats coming up and there not much I can do about it,It took 4 week for VOSA to get it sorted which meant I couldn't use my car until it was sorted.

Sorry Derek but who ever you spoke to is wrong. I took a car for an MoT on wednesday. The system wouldn't let them log in first thing so they issued a handwritten tempory certificate and said pop back in the afternoon when they should be able to log the details and print off my new certificate. The old MoT did not expire until the 14th of September and the car was MoT'd on the 26th August. My new certificate has the correct expiry date of 14th September 2016 and also has all the previous years mileages on it, so the new system must have access to the old system data.

My ex employee who now has the MOT testing station said the whole system went t*ts up again this week, and he has over 40 cars with a paper temporary MOT

Mine Was MOT'd on Friday it passed but only printed out the last mot mileage I commented and it seems it in the mind of the system that now prints from 1 to 3 past results on an arbitrary basis.
