That is the question. (apologies to Bill Shakespeare)
TV8 engine. Left hand bank does not have gaskets between the exhaust manifold and the head. I'm told that is the way it comes out of the factory. Right hand bank has gaskets that at least one has blown.
So undid all the retaining bolts with huge difficulty, as don't have the time/inclination to remove either the head or the engine, the manifold moves away from the head enough to get rid of the old (powdered) gaskets. Install new ones and do up the bolts. BUT not being able to get a torque wrench in can't get the bolts done up enough.
So I do I seal with gun gum/fire gum whatever to take up the slack left by the non torqued bolts. ?? Or find some way of tightening the nuts ?
