Correct, which is why I would not consider a policy from a broker offering such ridiculous terms as I said "some said " market value" when I asked how that was determined I did not receive a definitive response".

Peter James accepted emailed pictures and owners own valuation form,I told them all my mods ,whether they wanted them or not ! Just wrote them all on the form. E very time I add a mod I just phone up and tell them, they make a note and have never increased the premium.

There breakdown service is super ,and my windscreen claim was trouble free ,the real value of insurance is when you use it.

great benefits for 102 pounds per year ! Simples ,it's not

I said in an earlier post that Peter James quoted £196, typo, actually £156

I have this fun to come, the Stag is with Adrian Flux at the mo who I didn't find very helpful when I had my argument with a lady on a mini roundabout! They are keen for you to use their own in house accident assistance people who are very slow to get things sorted imho.Must be due for renewal soon too.
The TVR is with Classic Line and is now insured for an agreed value as the TVR club did that for me FOC and quickly, following the rebuild of the car I wanted to make sure my hard earned investment was covered fully. Classicline have charged me £20 to change mid term with about 4 months left, I am not sure from the paperwork if that was their charge or for the lift in value? Will find out when I send in the payment. Some are now charging for things like change of address or minor alterations mid term which frankly is a joke and something you would expect for free in many cases. These things can add up over time and make a large percentage difference to the overall cost so pays to check their scale of fees.
I am going to see if I can get a reasonable deal with just me driving as my wife never drives either of them although I have always named her just in case. It should in theory reduce the risk as only one car could be out on the road at any given time, but I bet it won't
Keen to hear peoples experiences before I start the phone calls and emails
              Cheers Glyn

I have my MGB insured with Nash but as they are 3 months apart I can't have a multi car policy and the fact that you have 2 vehicles does not appear to influence their offers and as you say in theory you would only be driving one car at once.

It appears that £25 appears to be the fee brokers add to a premium plus what they can sell in add ons.

As Will commented you need agreed value as there is no book for classics and, as has been seen on the forum prices vary from the apparently to cheap to "who the hell would pay that" Carole Nash include agreed value by sending in 6 photos which they keep on file and say they will stand by the value stated !! Hopefully i'll never need to find out.

Although there is 'no 'book' for classics, following a recent collision where my car, not a classic, was written off, the engineer checked things like auto trader to see what a similar vehicle was selling for and then allowed condition and mileage etc. so all in all, a fair 'price' should be ascertained, it was in my case.

Glyn, not just car insurers but it seems all of them now charge an admin fee if you change details or amend once you take out the policy, I know More than do.

I'll just lob in a vote for Heritage, who do agreed value at reasonable prices. http://www.heritagecarinsurance.co.uk/

My premium actually went down this last year, even though I increased the agreed value due to some upgrades /repairsI had carried out.

In fairness Aviva do not charge admin fee if you make changes online, however, these changes than you can make are limited.

Just been quoted £225 with RH for my new Stag - not got it yet mind as I don't get the car for a few days. Presently I have a Triumph Herald 13/60 insured with RH with 12+ years NCB that costs £116 per year and the increase in premium (to cover to February 2016 when policy expires) would be £57.
