My expereince with the AA has also been good a top guy attended to a break down we had in a modern eurobox, he did a temporary fix and then followed us home (25miles+) just to make sure.

This has reminded me to get AA cover. Anyone got any tips what cover and what cost. My daughter starts at Manchester met university in two weeks time so the start of some long journeys over three years God help us
I am with the RAC which covers both self and wife for any car we are driving - all services/cover/recovery except home start(I have some jump leads!) for less tham £100 per year.
TBH AA cover did not seem as good and cost more.
I decline any insurance policy that includes recovery or decline as add on if offered . Over our four cars I Reckon I save at least £60 a year going with the blanket RAC policy.
Another area I feel I am being hit for on 4 policies where perhaps one would do is Uninsured loss/Legal claims insurance? Is there an insurance expert on here who could clarify this? AFAICS these policies are not specific to the car but to the policyholder?
