    stainless steel sill covers

    Hi

I'm rebuilding my Stag and have decided to fit stainless sill covers because they look so good. I'm aware I should use stainless self tappers and should periodically check the sills. My question is where to get them? Rimmers? Or do you know someone else/better? Any help would be appreciated.

    Cheers

You could have had the ones I took off my Stag, and which were covering up serious tin-worm, but they've already gone to another home.....

I bought mine from Paddocks, they seem good quality and went on easily enough.
I love deadlines - I like the whooshing sound they make as they pass by!

Be absolutely sure and if I were you make the final choice at the end of the restoration. I started wanting a black rear end around the lights and stainless sills and ended up with none of them. Once you drill there is no going back. I downloaded lots of pictures and went to several shows. One thing that is for sure what ever the mixture they all look fantastic it just personal preference.

Talking of Drilling ! I would imagine the original Sills and Outriggers would have had a Hole Drilled in them to allow Wax Oil treatment etc. I'd like to put these back in but do they go in the middle and what size hole ?

Original, and genuine replacement, sills have holes in them under the stainless tread plates. Original outriggers also have holes for this purpose. There are plenty of holes and access points on the Stag for rustproofing without drilling holes. Pity the factory didn't know that......

Oh yes ! Top of the Sills have the Holes under the Stainless Tread Plates. I remember now. Been a while since I last looked at the Stag. I have it back now but I cannot upload photos.
