help with stripping brake master please

So I managed to get the servo half off . then removed the master cyl..
compressed the double return spring and remove the end clip, also the metal and rubber washers below allowing me to get at the circlip. circlip removed with ease, but I still cant get the internals to come out... the nylon washer is still in place , and even with a sharp tug with some pliers the thing refuses to come out.
    Any ideas please.

If you have a compressor blast some air down the 'outlet' port, it should come out quite quickly so have a cloth or something to catch the bits (plus the surplus fluid spray).

Ok so that didnt go as planned...
Used a dremel and drilled the white nylon washer in a few places so i could lever it out, no probs , then removed the seal under that.
Underneath that is a washer that has to be shaken out, once that was removed I found a second circlip lower down . I cant get it out with my crappy circlip pliers (universal pressed type with interchangeable ends) so will have to modify some old long nose pliers on the grinder, Bit to late to do that , so will attend to it over the weekend.
I will try and remember to get some pics and show the second circlip etc.
        ..

Yep saw those , i thought they might do . Also been looking at the sets of 7 inch ones, did buy some heavy duty from work , but they are too big !
A mate is bringing his tonight so might still progress over the weekend.

I rebuilt my master cylinder a couple of months ago and it was a fiddle, I got that lower circlip out and back in without circlip pliers in the end as I couldnt find any to do the job...I used some long steel scribes and some patience! Definitely not wishing to teach you to suck eggs or repeat all the good advice already written in previous posts but it might be worth having a look through some of the problems others have experienced with rebuilding these cylinders before you start tearing your hair out! I did get my system back up and running ok but it was challenging and I wasn't expecting this having rebuilt a few in the past without difficulty. Rich

I tried resealing one once, it was US afterwards and I'm fairly handy with this sort of stuff but had to admit defeat and buy a new one in the name of safety.

I think unless the internal bore is perfect it is going to be compromised and can tear the new seals as you try and bleed it.

I have only just started to feel it go a bit soggy , so will have a good look when stripped .
Like the idea of using some scribes to get the clip out. have some engineers compass , will try them (mates pliers too big) if that fails will order the dog leg ones from a supplier for Monday .
                      - still , all the time its got no brakes means I can get the wheels polished ....

I like your logic re your wheels! I took photos of my strip down and rebuild which helped to re assemble it with the seals the right way round amongst other things and I hope this next tip helps; that very insignificant finely coiled snap ring that holds the cup against the external coil spring isnt included in the rebuild kit that I bought from James Paddocks and I subsequenlty checked other kits and found them all the same so it's a really really good idea not to damage or lose it!! A search of snap ring suppliers also confirmed that getting a repalcement from anywhere else is tricky! I just saved mine in a serviceable condition. I am currently rebuilding my Land Rover and when it came to the Master Cylinder I just bought a new one given it was £32 versus the £150 for a Stag... almost identical too and does the same job but thats old landies!
