    Time Clocks; is yours working?

I wonder how many of these clocks are not working?

I just had to repair one, so I just wondered if its a common problem.

I wish I knew why they put a poxy german clock in the stag rather than a Smiths.

Fortunately my current stag has had a replacement.

        Mine's a Smiths.

mine stopped working when the hour hand fell off a year ago, dab of super glue and it's kept near perfect time since (about 2 mins out per week). so instead of replacing the clock for an oil gauge i fitted the split oil / water gauge from an MG/E Type.

Mine (Keinzel), did the same till I realised that the litle pin on the adjuster had stuck. When it jumped out after a bit of wiggling everything worked. And its accurate enought to forget about it and adjust once a month or so. I don't know about the Smiths clock but in the pre quartz days the most accurate way to have a clock was to have a mechanical movement, with a small motor to wind the spring when it uncoiled to a certain point.

Mine is an original clock and has always gained - about a minute a day. It's easy to adjust but I seldom look at it as in Tenerife time is not an exact science.
I do have a proper Oil Pressure gauge but it is located just below the dashboard next to the steering column - where I can always see it.

Mine was working fine when I took it out of the car and replaced it with an oil pressure gauge. The clock is in my spares box and is currently correct twice a day (To repeat a phrase used somewhere above:shock.

Mines very odd, parked up it loses dramatically, but use the car for the day and it seems to keep perfect time!

Think it could be battery drop-off as its standing - don't know?
