Hi all i am after a car cover for the stag for when it comes home from being painted and wanted some advice on what one to get. it will be in a garage so doesnt need to be waterproof, more to protect paint and keep dust off.
cheers Joel.
I have an indoor cover which my wife bought me for Xmas from rimmers. Keeps the dust off but leaves red flecks on the hood, that won't effect you for a while!
Hi joel, for the most part while you are building i would just use a couple of old cotton double bed sheets mate they can stay on area you dont need uncovering while working on it as added protection then bin when done and use a tailored cotton dust cover that can breathe which is important.

Fwiw, if you go in and out of the garage a lot, or it isn't well sealed from dust ingress a cover can lift on and off the paint and cause marks by grinding dust into the paint. Also, if it gets cold and you get condensation under the cover the paint can be severely damaged - especially if it hasn't hardened off completely.
I have always left mine uncovered and used a Nenette duster a couple of times a month.
If you're thinking of a £100 cover why not buy a used Carcoon off e bay, mine cost £240 for a size 3 (large) which gives about 2 foot clearance on a Stag on length. Protects against dust and more importantly damp and moisture, car comes out of it with brake discs still bright and you can suspend the top of it from the rafters to get the car in and out easily by unzipping it and opening the rear. Not as convenient as a dust cover but protects your investment especially with new paint.
I use the Halfords outdoor cover inside the garage. Breathable as well & worth the £50 squid.
I tried the cheaper ones for a tenner (as the Stag was inside), but they are really crap & they dont help with condensation.
