      Really? But it can't do 0 to 60 in 6 seconds or 140+ mph so i would have thought it would be really sluggish and boring for you!

          ZDDP had to be removed in order not to damage modern cars catalysts, that why most stag owners prefer VR1 20-50.
          Also 20-50 is necessary to avoid the oil finding its way past 1970s gasketry, which a thinner oil has no trouble doing.

          I think that there is justification for using a 'premium fuel' even without having made any ignition adjustment:-

          The additives included raise the boiling point of the fuel which is very important for stags which have a number of flaws that give rise to poor hot fuel handling. (fuel pipe routing being the worst offender)

          Regular fuel has a very low boiling point today compared to 1970s afaiaa.

          This does not affect modern cars as much because their fuel systems cool the fuel upon the fuels return to the tank (MPI systems)

                I called in at Demon Tweeks this afternoon and they had plenty of 5L cans of VR1 20/50 on the shelf.

                  I checked our stock on vr1 yesterday , we are expecting another delivery of the good stuff in the next week. (I did point out to the buyer that s.o.c would be upset if they had to shop elsewhere!).
                  Talking of the vr 1 , I used to do a bit of road rallying - had an ohv engined ford that I used to thrash to death on every event - with vr 1 in the sump (and no oil cooler) the oil pressure never dropped . That alone is the reason I use it in my stag , the engine fitted in mine is a 2500s with a chris wittor go faster cam approx 130 ish bhp.
                  I do have a viscous fan (just replaced the coupling) and an electric back up. Next mod is either a row of 6 'bike carbs' or a mikuni twin hsr setup. - Unless someone wants to donate a supercharger !!
