Seat Belts and cooling system

Quick few question for members;
Does anyone repair MK 1 single 'double' receiver seat belt connectors for the front seatbelts, the spring has slipped out which sets the mechanism? I can only get hold of replicas, which have black buttons rather than the original red, I would rather fix the orginal, if I can.

Also, I'm hoping to make contact with a local member to Great Missenden / Bucks / HP 16 who could help set up my coolant system, which after a year of trying to resolve - i'v deciecd to seek help! After a full engine rebuild, I can't fathom why all the coolant (or water now) is being pushed out of the expansion bottle. There doesn't appear to be any leaks - but this has pretty much grounded my car, which is no fun!

They were JPS964B on James Paddock but they aren't there now; except as a complete seat belt set JPS984
But there is a 2nd hand one on ebay:

I know it is rebuilt but have you done a block test for combustion gasses in the coolant , also I wouldn't leave just water in the engine, I would get the antifreeze strength back up if I were you.

I've taken the original Mk2 seat belt binnacles apart without any problems if that helps.
From memory the assembly is secured with a number of small rivets which need drilling out. The two halves of the assembly can then be carefully dismantled to reveal the complete mechanism, which can then be serviced as you see fit.
Upon reassembly I secured the two halves using long M2.5 screws and nuts & star washers, making sure to use Loctite thread locking compound on them.

This was spot on which I have just bought for £11 despite mistaken (and luckily retracted by seller) offer of £2,900!

Thanks for this, will look at this again. How do you pressure test the expansion bottle / lid?

If you look in my picture album you will see a brass plug with a tyre valve I made up for pressuring the cooling system ( Mk2 rad) you can use a tyre inflator with a gauge to check the system it will also tell you what pressure the cap blows off at. Graham

Looks like a great piece of kit, assume you can do the same directly on the expansion bottle to test cap that way too?
