I don't know what happened to my original thread but it seems to have lost itself, so here I go again. I'm in the last stages of fitting an electric water pump. At the moment its dangling in the general area where the alternator was originally sited. Its hanging from the inlet and exit hoses. Although Davies Craig do not mention anything about fixing the pump to a place in the engine bay, I do not fancy the thing there bouncing about on oil coller pipes, engine and exhaust manifold. So I'm thinking of having a permament fixture. First of all, am I right in thinking that the pump could be attached to the engine or frame but not to both? Secondly what would be the best fixture? i'm thinking of attaching it to the anti roll bar bolt via a big P Clip. I'm very open to any other ideas right now. Thanks
I'm pretty sure the instructions say it must not be hard mounted to the car and that it is light enough to be supported just by the hoses. If you do attach it to the engine or other part of the car it should be done with some kind of suspension system like some rubber bushes. HTH
I mounted mine where the alternator was. I had a custom silicone straight hose made with a slight reduction to cater for different pump and radiator stub sizes, it also has a T for heater return. Pump outlet fed into shortened original metal pipe via original right angle hose. As you say pump is light and can be supported by hoses.

Interesting - is it possible to post some pictures please? My idea to fit a bracket is to prevent it swinging and hitting other objects like the engine, exhaust manifold or oil cooler fins. Also has anyone tried to fit a heat shield between the pump and the exhaust manifold or is it an overkill?
