Vivax superstar - any users?

I've been put onto this product - Vivax Superstar - by my ace 'old school' proper mechanic John at Old Forge Motors, Harrogate and I'm just wondering if anyone has used it or even come across the company High Speed Lubricants? It claims to reduce friction and prolong engine life (not the only one to do so.....). John swears by it despite years of sceptism over various snake oils. I couldn't see any information about the product on their website, although I didn't look very hard. Having worked in the lube oil sector for many years I am always very cautious about putting in anything other than what the system manufacturer has recommended. I know nothing about this product but if I were you I would stick with a good quality 20w/50 motor oil such as Valvoline VR1 and not add anything else to it unless you are trying to fix something that would otherwise mean an engine rebuild. If it works out badly then that is exactly what you might end up doing!

Thanks Steve for your words of caution, duly noted. I already use VR-1 as my standard oil and very good it is too. The only need I would have from Vivax is for its protective/preventative qualities. And thanks Dave for finding the reduced price offer. I'm going to order a litre and give it a go on the basis that my mechanic swears by it and has used it regularly with no ill effects.
If I notice any obvious benefits (or problems) I'll let the forum know as suggested above by Alex.
