    Quite a coincidence

One of those odd moments this morning when you doubt your own eyes and sanity. I had my stag in at the local independent tyre specialist and left it parked in their main bay. On returning to collect it an hour or so later, they had parked it out on the street - fine. And there parked in the main bay was.....an identical mimosa stag!!!! I had to to do a double-check to make sure I wasn't seeing things. Anyway, I got talking to the owner (as you would) and his is an immaculate auto model with a 4 speed Jag gearbox and lever he fitted himself. He said his name was Maynard, I think his first name. Nice chap, lovely car that made my (unwashed) one look a tad scruffy!
It got worse....on the way back I passed an Aston Martin DB3S (owned by a well known local collector). Hey ho, learn to love your car whatever!

Weird coincidence Paul here's some more...

The real world is full of the kind of coincidences you'd dismiss as bad writing if you saw them in a movie.

Thanks for these Simon, very good. But of course coincidence is just that - coincidence. I think because our brains are wired to seek out patterns, any coincidences stand out. But I'm no expert and probably getting into deep water.

Not sure about the first one, the only one that I have read. I visited the Hoover dam 10 years ago and the guide said there were no fatalities during the construction, which I find hard to believe. Construction was from 1931 to 1936, so nobody could have died there in 1922.

Maybe as a bloke died there , on the spot in 1922, he exclaimed "damn" and someone else said "that's a good idea" and they started building there 9 years later

If you want co-incedence, how about when I was driving one of only a few hundred Renault Avantimes sold in the uk. On a narrow road there was a row of parked cars on my side and a car approaching. I flashed to let him through and, as he approached, to my astonishment, I saw that it was one of the very few other Avantimes in the UK

However, there was more to come. As I passed the parked cars, I noticed that one of them was also an Avantime

I should have bet on an outsider that day.

          Cheers

          Julian

When I had a red stag (KBJ121N from 2004 to 2006) I was driving through a little village near me called Tuddenham and what should be coming the other way another red stag registration KBJ???N.
I reckon KBJ was issued to stags as an age related plate after a private number transfer.

Another Stag-related coincidence: Bought my first Stag in 1989. It was first registered in Feb 1972 to an owner in Frome, Somerset and registered HYD***K. Bought my second Stag in 2008. It was first registered in Feb 1974 to an owner in Frome, Somerset and has the registration WYD***M (although that is an age-related plate issued to it in Feb 1977 when the first owner sold it and retained her personal plate).
