This clause is ok and as long as you have taken certain precautions such as leaving windows up and doors lock when roof is down, you're covered. It's just there to prevent people leaving their car open top somewhere without any thought or care. Such as leaving roof down over night

I have just renewed with RH and can not see this clause in any of my renewal documentation. It is not in the Key Facts and it clearly should be if correct. I did however see this.

We will not provide any cover for the loss of or damage to your vehicle or its contents by theft or attempted theft or an unauthorised person taking and driving it if it has been left unlocked, left with the keys in it (if locks are fitted to your vehicle), left with the windows open, left with the roof panel or the roof of a convertible vehicle open (if your vehicle has these) or reasonable precautions have not been taken to protect it.

So if you park you car with the roof down and it is stolen not covered???

How would they prove you had left the hood down? Ask the thief?!

waited for rh to get back to be to clarify my policy but did not.phoned hagerty they explained that if the car is left on drive overnight it is not insured between 10 and 6 it has to be kept in locked garage if away from the house it is .asked for a quote and was £50 cheaper for same cover thanks for all your inputs keith
