Hi all ,
Wondering if anyone has had experience with this issue , and how things worked out . My car runs well , low mileage , and I believe head's never off , however it has over the last year developed what am certain are leaks from the rear of the head gaskets - both sides , have checked the oil pump it comes from above that, also checked the rear of the cam covers and they are dry and it's coming from below that . I have 2 neat puddles which form after a run about a tablespoon each . Searched the forum , lots about water & head gaskets , but nothing about oil , however I can see , I either leave well alone & put up with it , as basically the car runs well or open up the can of worms of getting the head gaskets replaced for 2 leaks - It's beyond my minimal technical ability , so it would be something I 'd have to get done, which based upon a couple of threads on the subject could run to 2k.
Any thoughts or comments ?

Steve I would get underneath with the Gunk and a rag and clear all the traces of oil off and re-check after a run, look along the bottom of the head as the oil will run down and drip in the oil pump area.

Steve,
It could be the same problem I had ,it turned out to be the oil seal on the water Pump. The oil comes out of the water pump vent and runs down the block and pools (two) around the dizzy. I had no oil in the water and like you I did the same checks as you rear of the cam covers etc. Had water pump rebuilt and no more oil leaks.

Colin, Mark ,
Thanks for the feedback , have cleaned up , but it is difficult to get access to see , and locate the actually source , however yes the oil on the O/S does drip on into the pump area , shall give it another go .On the issue of the water pump that's got to be worth following up . Spoke yesterday with Trevor @ Faversham and he confirmed the oil channel at the rear of the head / water housing and that a leak was technically possible , but was rather surprised both sides would go at the same time , he also quite rightly pointed out the cost & effort of changing the gaskets would be prohibitive relative to putting up with a leak . money better spent when the heads really need to come off .
I think I've not been clear on the water front , I have water dripping onto the oil pool on the ground - I think a separate issue , I changed all the hoses recently it may be that , and just a coincidence and gravity that is sending all these errant fluids to the back of the engine and onto the garage floor . Am not sure where to find the water pump vent , but will start investigating this weekend .
Cheers
Steve
