Out of date parts for sale

Please could you tell me why there are so many old adverts on the forum for spares for sale and wanted , some even dating back to 2007 , I have just been messaging people for parts , and replies of that was a long time ago , can this part of forum not be updated and , these being deleted , instead of remembering and wasting time looking at these , many thanks , sorry to winge , but it is annoying , regard nigeh:

It's quite simple, either the op has to close or delete the thread or ask for a moderator or admin to do it for them (volunteers) it doesn't happen automatically.
The date is there on all posts, but no need to feel embarrassed for missing that.

Has that changes with the forum software update, they used to expire after 2 months didn't they?

Edit. The oldest For Sale post I can see is 29 Aug 15 so it may still be the case

2nd edit. The narrative in the forum menu under the For Sale/wanted section confirms posts will be deleted after 2 months - I'm not sure where (or how) you are finding the very old ones?

I often get an old page come up when I open the forum, sometimes it's from 2009 but mostly from 2007 refreshing the page doesn't help either you have to close it and re open it.

If you go to the for sale section you only see the latest two months but if you do a general search for say 'bonnet for sale ' the old posts come up.

If that's the case then for sale posts should be automatically closed after a couple of months. If the seller has not sold they can re post them.
