Use of OAT in a clean cooling system

Hi all, so I know there's been some discussion on this topic before on here, but the forum search function rather unhelpfully tells me that "OAT" is a common term and hasn't been included in the search!

I am musing about the possible benefit of using OAT based coolant in my stag when it all goes back together. There's no risk of the mixing with blue and subsequent gunge problem because all of the components of the cooling system are completely stripped apart right now - including the heater matrix and are completely dry.

Some time ago, in one of those situations where perhaps a "measure twice, cut once" approach would have been better, I bought 15 or so litres of Evans power cool coolant, having been taken by the allure of lack of corrosion and not pressuring the cooling system. However, I've since gone cold on the idea having discovered it was quite thick, and the recent concerns aired on here - especially with an engine that can have hot spots towards the back of the heads.

Anyway, the Evans coolant can find a new home and I'm free to choose something else. Does anyone know whether the anti-corrosion properties of OAT coolant are superior to the blue type?

Someone posted on here a while back that OAT is not compatible with copper in the cooling system. Not a problem with moderns where the rad is aluminium, but I chickened out and saved the OAT for SWMBO's Rover 75 which likes a regular top up!

Been in mine for 7 years and 12000 miles now with no problems, was put in by the PO.

The only reason I have read not to use it is it can destroy some older (read original) types of gasket and sealing materials. Any engine that has been rebuilt will be fine but like most things you will find arguments in both camps

As I said 7 years with no problems so I'll leave it as it is
