    Hard top trim puzzlement

Can anyone shed any light on this?

I am just about to refit the lower rear stainless trim to my hardtop (part number 813773) but it isn't quite the right shape. The trim curves slightly upwards for the last three inches or so which seems to take it too high to fit the Z pieces into. It seems that the trim should be straight, but both ends are the same curve. Should it be straight or is there some alignment I've cocked up?

    Thanks, Richard

Richard. I have just looked at that trim on my hard top, and it vaguely turns up at the ends. The obvious thing is that it exactly follows the curvature of the lip of the recess into which it fits, right to the ends. If yours is doing the same, but won't fit into the zigzag mouldings, perhaps they are the problem.

Thanks Mike, it was as you said. I've fitted the strip successfuly now, although previous repairs to the metalwork of the hardtop have changed the shape of the recess so it's not quite right. I think the zigzag alignment had me fooled for a bit but it's gone together okay.
