Just seems to make the car more water-tight in the bad weather.

Mine got its winter hat on for a trip in the pouring rain on Saturday, to the Bristol Classic Car Restoration Show. Bumped in to Paul (Firept - remember him ?) who has now got a Mini and an MGF. Glutton for punishment, or what
Now safely tucked away in its new dry home
Cheers

Mine's got it's winter hat on too and just back from an hour's round trip reminded me of the benefits of the hard top. Totally agree with Ian and Julian above, plus I rather like the look of the Stag with a hard-top as well as the practicalities. Two cars for the price of one!
