    2 x left hand carbs

hopefully the first of many questions .
ok we got her running BUT after thinking the carbs are really in great condition I go to put the advance retard on to the right hand carb and guess what no connector.
So my question is can I drill and tap a hole fore the brass connector or do I need to find a right hand carb ???

have i missed something here ? I thought the vac take off for the dizzy came from a centre tapping in the pedestal on the strommy set up and not from the carbs ?

Boy, am I glad that I'm not the only one . I thought exactly the same as both Bob and Steve and even posted that in my deleted post above.

However, for some reason, I then doubted my sanity and went and had a look at my car and saw that the outlet that comes off the pedestal is for the temperature control on the air intake, whereas the vacuum advance is, in fact, off one of the carbs.

Amazing how we can still go wrong on things that we think we know like the back of our hands

        Cheers

I would have been with the three of you, I would have been absolutely certain that the take off on the pedestal was the vac advance. But now you have said it, I can't think where else the intake temperature control would have come from. Bizarre!

Yep, and it's coming off the right hand carb. It wasn't easy to get a good pic.

This whole thing was doing my head in last night !!!! I've now treble checked and it IS the right hand carb.

What may have confused things was that the only way I could get a half decent picture last night, having removed the breather pipes, was from the front of the car looking backwards.

Just to confirm my sanity, I checked the ROM and found this:
