    Stag Valuation

This question is mainly aimed at the French members but any advice will be received gratefully.

I am looking to change my insurance company and the one I've been talking to today has quoted a very competitive rate but has asked for a value statement from a recognised authority/expert.

Has anyone come across this issue and if so how was it resolved?

    Thanks in advance,

    Brian

Inside the front cover of the club magazine, you will find the details of the Club Insurance Valuations Officer, Russell Lewis. I suggest you email/call him. I am sure he will be able to advise. When I spoke to him he was most helpful. Not sure what effect the French aspect will have.

        Hi Brian
The French insurer almost certainly won't accept a UK valuation even if translated. Your French insurers should provide you with the details of their own valuer with a form to complete and send off with a photo (and a cheque!). I got a very good quote from Retroassurances but fortunately have not had to make a claim so don't know what their claims handling is like.
        Regards
        Stuart

          Thanks for that Stuart,

The people I spoke to, (CA), said they couldn't recommend an expert. Having said that, in fairness to them, they admitted it isn't there area of interest.

Could you send me some info on Retroassurances?

          Thanks,

          Brian

Hi Brian, they are at www.retro.fr email: gestion@retro.fr My premium for an agreed value of €20,000 comp with all the bells & whistles is about €300. I couldn't find anyone cheaper in France altho the UK insurers seem to be cheaper.......

That's great, doesn't seem a bad price. I'm paying just under 400 Euro with AXA.

              Thanks Stuart.
