    Cooling Fan Thermostatic Switch

When I bought my car it was fitted with an electric fan as backup and a kenlowe thermostatic switch with the knob to select temperature.

None of is currently wired up and the car hasn't got hot on me, but seeing as it is all there I may as well have it working.

The thermostatic switch is knackered, (physical damage I think its been dropped) and no longer works. There doesn't seem to be much available anymore. Anywhere I find the type of switch fitted, it says no longer available.

I have found this one which should do my job: http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/Produc...FYYewwodlDQPjA

Has anyone ever used it and is it any good as it seems cheap to me?

If you do go for the Craig Davies option, I'd recommend you use a relay as the thermostat is only rated for 12A (my Kenlowe takes 18A on normal and 24A on boost. Otherwise, the temperature range seems OK.

If getting one from Kenlowe, suggest you also get the sleeve they do to help get a good seal on the top hose to radiator connection.

My experience of contacting Kenlowe through the form on their website wasn't good - I never got a reply. I hope you have better luck. Now I have a name to go to, I might fare better.

Thanks for your replies, ill try kenlowe next week and see what I can make out. Otherwise ill go for the other option.

Thanks for the tip about the sleeve. I've got a few spares that came with the car.

I have a Rovotec controller. Fits inline with the top hose, comes already wired with a relay, just pick up a (switched) positive and the other wire goes to the fan, simples!

Ace parts on ebay item number 191447689025 price £9 . 59. These were very popular and sold out I had to wait 6 weeks for them to come back in stock before I could get mine . Seems very good quality and a very good price. Back in stock.
                  It also has a relay.
