Lidl offers that might be of interest

Just giving you a "Head's up" as I know some wanted these last time but missed out

Next Monday, 23rd, Lidl's are doing their Heated Seat covers again @ £9.99 and the Electric Winch that some use for their Hard Tops @ £49.99.

They also have a Battery Charger/ Jump starter for £34.99 that looks useful

    Here's a link

Did some googling but not found the voltage for the winch. If only 12v then fine, my garage has no power and never will have.

Actually even cheaper on eBay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/parkside-c...209&rmvSB=true

        Hi
They are 240v. If you add the postage on eBay they are dearer!!!

And you have the opportunity to return under warranty if you buy from Lidl, If you have a receipt there is never a problem taking anything back

I'm testing that out right now. I bought a petrol 4-in-1 multi tool (3-year warranty) earlier this year and the chainsaw attachment has stripped its gears. Phoned Lidl customer services and was given a phone number and email address. Sent the email (Germany's) and got an immediate response. They are sending me a replacement attachment. We'll see how long it takes to arrive.

              Hi Ian

Thanks for the tip off. I think I will be off to buy one of those winches.

              Regards

I had a minor problem with a tool I bought from Lidl and I rang the helpline number on the packaging. I hadn't realised but they were in a mainland European country (Austria ?) and they were brilliant. Polite, helpful - couldn't ask for more.

Sent me a complete replacement, even though it was only a small part that I had a problem with and it turned up within just a couple of days.

                  Cheers

My experience hasn't been so good. A week after telling them of the failure, no replacement had arrived. Contacted them and received apology quoting system problems. Promised replacement was being despatched. It arrived today, but was the wrong attachment. They'd sent a hedge trimmer attachment instead of a chainsaw. Contacted them again and had to send photos of what I needed and what I'd received. No acknowledgement of these photos, so no idea when (or if) I'll get the correct part. Meanwhile I can't cut the wood I needed to cut two weeks ago.
                      So much for German efficiency......

Is this any good for cleaning carb parts, switches etc?

Thinking for my chainsaw carbs as much as anything.

                        Cheers...Al

                          Al,
I have a very similar type from Maplins and it works well. The local garden machine repairer uses one all the time. He was very cagey about what solvents he used though. The basket in mine is plastic and the instructions suggest using anything strong in a glass container in a bath of water - if that makes sense.
