Anyone else had the problem fitting an Accuspark

Spoke to Accuspark about their trigger module not fitting my distributer as the screw that attaches the distributer baseplate to the vacuum advance and retard arm does not allow the baseplate of the trigger to sit flat. In the end it was agreed with Accuspark to notch out the trigger baseplate around the screw to allow it to sit flat. The car is running fine now its fitted and timed, but I just wonders if anyone else has had this problem. Graham

Your problem is the screw in the top plate that links to the vacuum unit is incorrect, it should sit flush with the top plate, you also have the small spring plate missing, this spring plate take up any play in the top plate.
      Tony.

Thank you Tony for the info. I spoke to Russ and we came to the conclusion this could be the problem, I could not remember if the original points had a cut out or they went over the top of the screw ( The car had Lumination when I bought it ) so he phoned round for me to try to locate a screw but no one seems to do them. I was in a bit of a dilemma as the screw that is in there is exactly the same as your picture except with a hex dome head. The spring plate that you mention where about does it go only I cant find it in the manual or in any picks. I don't expect that I could get one of those either though. Thanks again for your help. Cheers Graham

The distributor in the straight 6 Stag Darren (m9fdb) is breaking might have the screw, to get you part way there.

Mine luckily popped straight in ,but I did find a frozen (pleas don't start singing) advance plate which took some time to free
