15tag

Have not used this Forum for quite a while, but today received an email purportably from 15TAG.

Robert Taylor who was the owner of the Stag with the above registration died some time ago,
and I don't know if his wife Janet kept his car/registration or sold it on.

The email says it contains an "important message" but just directs you to a strange Spanish Website!.

Anyone else had a similar email, and does anyone know what happened to 15TAG?

Thanks for asking - I'm doing fine - busy enjoying myself whilst still fit enough to do so,
don't feel old but, our daughter turns 40 next March, and our eldest grandchild is now 18.

Been on 3 Cruises this year as it gets the misses and I away from home as she gets pestered a lot as
she is in her 5th term as President of our Complex.

Still regularly using the Stag, and only thing that has gone wrong recently is the original Blaupunkt cassette/radio
decided to call it a day and I am in the process of installing a more modern unit. Earlier in the year had a fair bit
of work done on the underside of the car by a local garage as it needed new track-rod ends, bushes, ball joints etc.

ummm sounds like one of many phishing scam type emails that I get daily.

AFAIK Janet still has 15TAG, but I do not have her email.

You could email the Worcester area coordinator ( as per the mag.) and ask him to forward it to Janet. But I agree, it does sound like a scam.

Janet still has 1 5tag, she might be at the local TR register meeting tonight and I will ask if I see her, but it sounds like a scam to me!

Of course anyone can set up an e-mail address as 15tag with any e-mail server. With these scams the link if opened puts a trojan, virus or other malaware on your device, hopefully your antivirus/security will block it. These usually come from pseudo major retailer/banking sites. I recently had one apparently from Tesco Banking with a link to tessco.com/bank! If any doubt I look at properties and details which can be very revealing. (on most - select e-mail in inbox list and right click). Apologies to those who may regard this as teaching grandmother etc.

Good to see that 15TAG is still cherished.

I spoke to Janet last night, she hasn't used that email address for about 3 years after the account was hacked.

As suspected it is a scam!

Thanks for that info Neil - confirms what I suspected, having met Janet previously in Tenerife I just wondered if she was
coming over again and might be trying to get in touch - when you see her again pass on my regards please.
