Brooklands - New Year's Day meeting

I'm thinking of giving the stag a run out to this meeting - any other stag owners interested in attending ?

    Thanks

Not my cup of tea even though it's local to me. I find the whole place a bit snobbish and they charge you full price to put on a display for them for others to pay to view

Several of the Surrey SOC members will be going on New Years Day.

Just for the record, Brooklands Museum is a charitable organisation dedicated to British motorsport and aviation. So the entry fees charged go towards the running and development of the museum.

As an example of what they are doing for us, here is an extract from their website.

Re-Engineering Brooklands. Brooklands Museum is embarking on the largest ever development of its remarkable site. This major £7 million project will transform the Museum even further and create a truly inspiring visitor experience.

The project opens an exciting chapter in the story of the historic site, restoring aspects of the original layout whilst also creating groundbreaking new facilities for the future.
The Bellman Hangar will be moved off the Race Track’s Finishing Straight and reinterpreted as the ‘Aircraft Factory’, an inspiring centre for learning about science and engineering.
Captivating exhibitions will be created in the new Flight Shed and a lively programme of activities and events will evoke Brooklands heyday on the re-united Finishing Straight.

I hope that some of you will see that coming to Brooklands can be an enjoyable experience, whilst also making a small contribution to our motoring heritage.

If the weathers good I'm gonna go in the Stag

I took it out for a little blast today as a mate of mine who is a printer kindly printed a few pictures for me of the Stag and the Rover and Mini I had this year.

Had a fun day yesterday at Brooklands. Needed a grand day out idea for the lads and I so what else?

great fun. good value. Concorde experience was fun as was the 4d experience. all volunteers especially those at the shop, cafe, 4d experience, F1 simulator and two open for business aircraft were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

By the time we got to the wellington hanger the twins were getting a little restless, I tried to get them to blow off a little steam on the banking but David does love to touch. We had our own personal shadow for the duration of the hanger swear he though the lads were going to steal the bouncing bomb prototype!

The "Campbell shed" was visited for a whistle stop on the way out but close to 4pm the place was shutting down.

Chaps, first class day out and great fun for all of us.
Stags and Range Rover Classics - I must be a loony

Nothing "Snobish" about Brooklands!!!! I love the place and the events held there, I find the breakfast club meets really friendly and the new years day meet is fantastic. No issue about paying to go in - most car shows are like this now anyway, plus it all goes to keeping Brooklands going - I cant wait for the re-development and education centre to be completed.

If the weathers good I'll be there for sure!

That's your view and choice, were all different I can't remember the last time I paid to get into a show (with the exception of National Day's) with my car and have had it for over 6 years now and I do quite a few throughout the year.

                Merry Christmas
