wishes for 2016

Dear Stag friends,

When I see and read the news I feel very sorry for all the people in the North of England and Scotland. Here in the SW of Germany we have had the first rain for weeks last night. December was extremely warm here.

So let us hope for a better 2016 and a nice "open season" especially for you on the big island. If the North Pole has a temperature increase of almost 40° at the moment, why not GB?

Happy new year, Dieter. As you say, those whose homes are flooded or damaged by severe winds are in our thoughts.

Happy New Year Dieter and thanks for thinking of all the Brits suffering from almost continual flooding in December.

Because of our position on the edge of the Atlantic to the west and tight up against the Northern landmass to the east we are in the middle of two (or more) competing weather streams. It's not uncommon for our weather to come in about 5 hour breaks, one of the common sayings is "rain at 7 dry by eleven", although with this latest storm "Frank" the latest of the 4 storms of 3 or 4 day duration each we've had through December one of the other sayings we've developed is " you must be aving a laff "!.
The seeming constant rain has not allowed the ground to recover or absorb the moisture and when the rain stops it's just to allow another storm through !
The people on the west coast and especially the North and Scotland have been having a miserable time, and our admiration goes to them who having cleared up from one flood are having another flood a week or 10 days later !
