Fan blades

Hi Staggers,
Has anyone used a Triumph 2500 plastic fan that has shorter blades than the Stag ones,and if so does it keep the cooling OK. I have a couple of the 2500 fans and don't want to go to the trouble of fitting if nbg.
The reason I ask is that two of my stag blade broke about 2 inches down so of course I had to shorten the opposite side to balance it up,but with 13 blades it's not exactly opposite the other ones.I have no problems with overheating but would hate to loose more fan blades!! There doesn't appear to be many of the stag fan blades available here so hence the question?

I don't know but I would not have thought so. I would have thought that BL would have used them if they could. James Paddocks have blades Part No PCK 820

Will consider whether to leave well alone or fork out for one from Paddocks.The trouble getting these items to NZ is the cost of freight and your VAT plus the conversion rate!

There shouldn't be any VAT on export sales. If you have been charged VAT demand your money back.

Hi Anthony, as Malc4d said, you shouldn't pay VAT and as far as I can recall from buying bits while living in NZ and previously in the UK, what you pay extra in shipping balances out what you save on the VAT. Of course if you get stung for GST or any import duties that changes things, but that's not happened so far....

Hi Anthony, You won't pay VAT and if you can keep the total purchase under $400 you won't pay GST or import duties but that is going to change.

All the best to you for 2016.Hope the car is performing as it should.I have been knocked down with cancer in the oesophagus so am not doing a hell of a lot.I have planned a Stag run down our end for end of March to the Tui Brewery but of course I may not make it.My friend from Levin who now owns Joan's blue Stag will take that over.However one must keep going.Took my Kawasaki ZZR1100 to the Wanganui bike races Boxing Day and are hoping to be able to do a Vintage Kart meet at New Plymouth beginning March.You can see I have plenty to keep me focused on living for a while yet.
Thanks for your reply but I reckon I will stick with the fan as it is for the mean time.

Hi mate,
the 2500 fan wont fit, not only has it shorter blades the locating holes are closer together also.

Hello Anthony, Thankyou for the good wishes. Very sorry to hear your news and wish you both all the best. Yes Stag is going well. Recently been doing a lot of Ks, 98% topless. I have repaired two small weeps in the L/hand radiator tank, replaced the 1/4 light rubber seals, easily than I thought. Also moved the battery to under the spare wheel but you will have seen that in the magazine.
We are considering coming down to Southwards to the open workshop day on the 6th March and then visiting the WW1 displays in Wellington or visa-versa. If do we will organise a visit.

Yes hopefully I will be around that weekend as our VCC have our annual Ted Green Motor Cycle rally which I hope to ride my Matchless G11 in!Our run is on the Sunday but is usually over just after lunch.You have my details in the magazine so please do get in touch.Like you new battery placement,certainly has worked out well.
