Rear off/side handbrake stuck on :(

Hi

Went to drive off to "Resort World" and the car will not go rearwards ,and at the same time trapping my modern on the drive ,so I can't drive forwards either !!

Any remedies very welcome I did think of fitting a Jump Jet engine !

Take the wheel off and bash the brake drum with special tool 2LB/Hickory

My advice is leave it in gear and don't apply the parking brake, esp this time of year (only joking-sort of).

My daily sticks if left for a few days but as it's auto, just gearbox in 'park' is enough.

I just rock it back and forth in d and r and although it takes half the shingle on the drive with it, it does free off.

Had you washed it off, then just parked it up? I have to wash, dry and then run it to dry the brakes before parking it up! If not the front and/or rear brakes stick on and are a bu**er to free off. If you have the space, release the handbrake and try and abruptly drop the clutch in reverse! Usually works for me. If that doesn't work, release the handbrake cables ( in case they're dragging) and use the birmingham screwdriver on the FACE of the drum.
