Do all big bore tailpipes have silencing in?

Evening all, question as above.

I ordered some new exhaust parts to replace the rotten mild steel items on my car and the big bore tailpipes that have arrived from paddocks has some silencing in.

With my old tailpipes I removed the silencing from the tailpipes using a hammer and chisel on the spot welds that held the inner mesh tube in. With the new stainless item this looks rather difficult/impossible. I much preferred the extra volume from my 'modified' tailpipes.

My questions are, has anybody bought any new big bore tailpipes that do not have this extra silencing (if so where from)?

Also does anybody know if the small bore pipes have this or not?

i think they all have silencers inside,why would you want to remove them,if your after lounder sound fit the sports straight through middle boxes

I already have the straight through silencer boxes. With the silenced tail pipes the sound seems to me muffled slightly, where as with it removed it is definitely louder. Can't beat letting the v8 ponies escape at full volume Trouble is the tailpipes on it now have been welded up twice and really aren't going to last much longer.

on my own car i had exhaust made to look like an original system large bore, but mines made in 2 inch diam pipe

I may end up making something or modifying these pipes from paddocks. How far back does the 2" pipes go?

A while ago I thought about getting some tailpipes made up that where large bore right back under the boot floor so they looked as if the were large right the way through.

Mine with a standard stainless system is loud enough for me and gets more than enough comments. In fact I am keeping the revs down at night in urban areas to try be considerate.

Would be interesting to put some facts around it. will try out the sound meter app on my phone

On another forum it was suggested that one could make your own 2" tailpipes using this reasonably priced source of Stainless Tube

Your earlier post mentioned 2"?. The Paddocks tail pipes dont look anything like 3"? Where did you get your 3" tailpipes from? "Sounds" great (bothways!)

I think ill put them on and if I'm not happy with the sound i'll modify them. I know a handy guy with some stainless welding wire

I just didn't want to put them on and scupper my chances of sending them back, to later find out that if I would have bought them from somebody else they would have come without the extra silencing!!!
