Certainly had a few replies on this thread - thanks.
Have just put the replacement battery on the car this afternoon, and as expected had problems re-fitting the power steering bracket. One of the thread holes in the Head is now totally shot and can no longer take a helicoil.
Have had to make do with just 2 bolts instead of 3, and used a chain and a couple of strong springs to compensate for the missing bolt and keep the unit in place. Seems to be working but will have to keep an eye on it. Will see what happens in a few days time as to whether the new battery is keeping it's charge on the car the same way it did off the car. Read 13 volts when I first put it on, and charged at just over 14 volts as it should. Will take the car for a run tomorrow (to the place I play snooker on Saturdays), and check the reading again before and after.
