Chip and dent factors

Hi

Generally my Stag has excellent paintwork (Not concours but OK by me and many others)

However it has a few stone chips and one minor car park ding all in the posession of the PO ( He highlighted most at point of sale) or even previous

My Stag was I think resprayed in 2002 .

We have locally a "chip and dent" factor who albeit is part of a national franchise but unlike others has a small industrial estate unit rather than a gazebo on your drive.

Several years ago I had an "on your drive" repair by a different company of a low wall rear scuff not seen by the sensors on my modern car. This looked fantastic but some 5 years later the outer laquer layer is starting to peel.

Have any forum members had any experience of using these operatives on a Stag or other classic car ?

If not recommended where do I go to get these minor defects repaired in my locality (Cambs/Beds/Northants/ N. Herts/NW. Essex)

Think the weather is a major factor on the scratch & dent outfits - like everything temperature effects paint results.

I agree about the weather but the outfit I am thinking of approaching use an enclosed small industrial unit. My concern is mainly related to the compatability of their repair to the current ( 2002? ) paintwork formula on my car.

One of the local dent factors lives across the road. He tackled 2 dents on the Stag offside front wing recently and made an excellent job. Even I can't tell where they were. On this occasion they didn't need paint work though.

I have a cosmetic warranty on my daily driver and have made two claims so far. These were for paint chips and the work was done by Flying Colours. Excellent job.
