rear wheel bearing kit

Hello everybody,

I am about to rebuild the rear axle. Which rear axle bearing kit (GHK 105) can you recommend? I would rather spend more money and be on the safe side ...

Paddocks kit includes collapsable spacer and cheaper including delivery, I fitted these with no issues.

Quite honestly if your hub bearings seem good I would leave well alone.

When I bought my TR 24 years ago it had one knackered hub bearing and I managed to get a pair of rear hubs from a MK1 saloon. In the intervening years despite owning Stags and big saloons for most of that time I still have that spare hub!

I agree with Neil, many of the new bearings are made of Chinese chocolate. However if you must change, I suggest Chris Witor who has genuine Timkin bearings and is an expert on suspension parts.

I agree with John. CW is a fount of knowledge on the big saloons and of course the suspension/driveline is the same as a Stag.

If a rear hub is OK with no noise or play, they I'd leave well alone. It's likely got the original parts in there and is likely to go on for many miles. If a problem then occurs, it's a relatively easy job to extract the hub and get it fixed.
