Looking to change the carpets and Hood this month can anybody recommend suppliers for a good mohair hood apart from the usual suppliers like paddock and Rimmers etc
You could try Aldridge trimmers in W Midlands. Details at www.aldridge.co.uk I haven't used them personally but have generally heard positive comments. If anyone knows different please post accordingly.

I only purchased the hood from Brian Turner fitted it my self and was very pleased not everybody does red hoods.
I collected the hood from him and he gave me several useful tips speak as you find
If Aldridge hoods fit like their carpets then do not bother see thread running at the moment.
Once you have built a ship everything else in life is easy
Aldridge do make a good Stag hood BUT the rear window zipper that they use is absolutely USELESS, as it is far too flimsy for the STAG. I have spent the past several years connecting up with others like myself who have suffered with their USELESS Aldridge zip, and Carl the editor of the Stag magazine has a detailed write up and the solution to the problem which he is considering using. This problem is only associated with the Aldridge used zipper and it has gone on now for some 6-8 years, judging by all that I have connected with in US,Canada, Australia,NZ and in the UK.
For less than $25.00 US a zipper 10X stronger can be used and that is what I and others have had to use to solve the problem.Aldridge make very good products but unfortunately they do not make the zipper and will not acknowledge that it is, and has been, a problem which is a shame. The guy who fitted my new zipper said that the previous zip used "was good for ladies dresses or mens fly zips" !!
