    Moved alternator and stagwebers .............

HEADER TANK ,there I said it

I've used tony harts kit to move my alternator ,so will the HT still fit ?,Also will closing off the overflow pipe and using a ht with the outlet straight into the top of the rad via the plumber's kit ( the same one as stagwebber ) work ,but not as sophisticated ?

sorry if i make no sense ,it's nothing new

Shhh don't tell anyone I told you but I have exactly the same setup

A nods as good as a wink to a blind bat etc

re plumbing, yes I blanked off the expansion tank pipe from the top of the rad. I bought a fancy ally T piece to give the HT a nice return and it is plumbed in using the a-hem disputed method.. Had a number of issues last year, mainly caused by the rad being full of wallpaper paste which then allowed the water pump to suck its coolant from the path of least resistance. I cured that by a flushing the crap out of the rad and making the rad the path of least resistance.

No magic involved honestly, A length of threaded bar was found in the scrap bin that fit neatly into the HT return pipe to the top of the HT and was clamped in place using a jubilee clip. I will get around to moving the HT to the drivers side and plumb it into the bottom hose at some point but in the meantime I have a high level expansion tank with a bleed mechanism and a low level warning light.

I am still happy with it.

Being a Stag Newbie I didn't know that the alternator had been relocated when I put my stagweber header tank on it's a bit tight but it works well.
              Regards Mike
