somebody has nicked my rear brakes!

This afternoon whilst my neighbour was fitting the new bootfloor I took the opportunity recover the rear suspension from its resting place in the backgardenand dismantle it in preparation for overhauling it. Imagine my surprisewhen I removed the road wheels to discover therewere no drum brake units fitted:shock:All thatwas there were the back plates and the wheel hubs.:X

This means I will have to take them off the other car which is a pain.:X

All the rest came apart easily enough. Any suggestions for cleaning up the trailing arms? Silver paint or polish?

They'renaturally silver so no painting required. I just wirebrushed mine.

Bruce,

I sandblasted mine then anodised them bysoaking them in chromic acid, I then primed using zinc chromate primer followed by a couple of coats of aluminium colour spray paint. They came up reallywell and shouldn't corrode in a hurry!

I have used a brass wire wheel in a drill successfully, the trailing arms polish up nicely.
